Laser turning and stent cutting

DMC has dedicated tools for laser turning and cylindrical object processing applications. For turning it allows defining the process in several stages to get the smooth part. For stent cutting, users can wrap any 2D patterns on cylindrical objects and either use scanner or stages for processing.

Process specific tools for ease of use

Use a wide range of hardware to achieve your results. Be it Aerotech, ACS, or Polaris, the process definition is completely the same. Or combine stages + scanners for additional flexibility and added value.

Laser Turning Command

DMC has a special Laser Lather command for turning applications that automatically generates motion paths from 2D or 3D CAD input.

Users can either import a 2D profile of the part or the final shape in 3D. Then define in DMC the process via multiple steps: rough processing steps, finishing steps, and indexed removal for the areas that cannot be processed in turning mode.

Wrap patterns on a cylinder

Using 4D wrapping, users can wrap 2D patterns on cylindrical surfaces for cutting or engraving. This can be used for path generation for stent cutting or other cylindrical part processing applications.

Stage + Scanner

DMC allows for stitching with the scanner and the rotary axis.

Using the stitching command we can process the part by automatically splitting the geometry into tiles doable by the scanner.

Not only that, but DMC also has dedicated commands for wrapping 2D geometries on freeform cylindrical parts and then engraving them in combination with the scanner.
