DMC has a special Laser Lather command for turning applications that automatically generates motion paths from 2D or 3D CAD input.
Users can either import a 2D profile of the part or the final shape in 3D. Then define in DMC the process via multiple steps: rough processing steps, finishing steps, and indexed removal for the areas that cannot be processed in turning mode.
Using 4D wrapping, users can wrap 2D patterns on cylindrical surfaces for cutting or engraving. This can be used for path generation for stent cutting or other cylindrical part processing applications.
DMC allows for stitching with the scanner and the rotary axis.
Using the stitching command we can process the part by automatically splitting the geometry into tiles doable by the scanner.
Not only that, but DMC also has dedicated commands for wrapping 2D geometries on freeform cylindrical parts and then engraving them in combination with the scanner.
The trial version includes all the features of the software. Tell us a bit about your intended use and machine configuration and we will help you to configure it to work best for your system and application.
