DMC imports DXF, DWG, HPGL, STL, STP, STEP, IGES, OBJ, PLY, Gerber (fill and cut), NC Drill/Excellon, G-CODE, GDSII, CLI, SLI, and image formats (BMP, JPG, PNG, TIFF). Files can also be exported to DXF, DWG, and PLT.
Yes. DMC imports Gerber fill and Gerber cut files along with NC Drill/Excellon files. All PCB processes - etching, drilling, and cutting - can be combined in a single recipe.
Yes. DMC supports GDSII import, which is the standard format for semiconductor mask design and lithography layouts.
DMC offers lines, cross-hatching, dots, hexagon, contour, dashed, stripes, stripes 90°, chess, chess 90°, snake, spiral, custom pattern, multiangle, and perpendicular hatching. Up to 5 hatching layers can be applied to the same object.
The offset from the original contour to the hatching lines, used to compensate for the laser spot size. This ensures the hatched area matches the intended geometry.
DMC offers five stitching modes: Grid (rectangular tiles), Object Centering (centers small objects in scanner field), Rotary Grid (tiles on cylindrical objects), Grid On Fly (tiles while stages move linearly), and Rotary On Fly (tiles while rotary axis rotates continuously).
Stitching divides an object's trajectories into smaller fields (tiles). Each tile is processed using the galvo scanner, and positioning stages move between tiles. DMC handles all splitting, sorting, and stage motion automatically.
A-MOTF allows the galvo scanner to mark while positioning stages move continuously, without stopping at each tile. DMC builds an optimized velocity profile - slowing in dense areas, speeding in sparse areas - to maximize scanner utilization and throughput. Up to 30% faster than conventional stitching.
Yes. DMC compensates for stage motion based on a wired encoder signal from the positioning stages. This enables marking on conveyors and other continuously moving systems.
DMC supports SCANLAB RTC (RTC5, RTC6, RTC6 Ethernet), Raylase (including SPICE1), Newson, SmartMove, and Polaris controllers. Two galvo scanners can be controlled from one RTC card with the second head option.
A tool that generates a calibration file for the galvo scanner to correct geometric distortion. DMC can create the correction using stages and camera (automatic), or from a marked grid scanned with a flatbed scanner (without stages).
With short jumps, the scan head often does not reach full jump speed, so shorter delays are sufficient for mirror settling. Variable jump delays automatically interpolate between minimum and maximum delay based on actual jump length, reducing wasted time.
DMC supports ACS (SPiiPlus, EtherCAT), Aerotech (A3200, Automation1), Newport XPS/XPS-RL, DeltaTau/PMAC, Googol, TinyG, Melec, FANUC, and ABB robot controllers. Custom controllers can be integrated via plugins.
Adds acceleration and deceleration margins at the start and end of each trajectory. This ensures the entire trajectory is marked at constant speed, producing uniform laser pulse density. Modes: Off, Manual (set margins), Auto (calculated from stage acceleration values).
Position Based (Pulse Pitch), Time Based (Frequency), Time Based (Frequency Divider), Duty Cycle (with Gate mode), and No Triggering. The mode depends on the laser type and application requirements.
Power ramping changes laser power gradually at the start and/or end of a trajectory using analog output. The ramp profile can be defined by time or distance, saved as presets, and assigned to different elements of the CAD or trajectory. Supported via RTC (for galvo) or ACS with LCI module (for stages).
IPG (YLR, YLM QCW, YLPN, YLS), Lumentum (Picoblade 2 and 3), Ekspla (FemtoLux 30), Trumpf (TruPulse Nano), Coherent (Diamond E400), SPI (G4, R4), NKT (AeroPulse), Amplitude (Satsuma, Satsuma X), Rofin, El.En, Bloom, Brimo, Fluence, Litilit (Indylit 10), JenLas (Femto 16), KMLabs (YFi), MLase, Cobolt, Pharos, Spirit, and EdgeWave.
DMC supports industrial cameras from IDS, AVT/Allied Vision, Basler, Mightex, PointGrey/FLIR, Keyence, and Hamamatsu, as well as standard webcams. Multiple cameras can be configured simultaneously.
Manual (operator clicks on fiducial in camera view), Automatic (software finds fiducial using saved presets), CAD Alignment (align to parts of CAD object), Find Corner, Find Edge, and Find Large Circle (for objects that don't fit in camera view). 1-3 patterns can be used per alignment.
DMC moves stages under the camera and stitches multiple frames into one large image. This creates a complete view of samples that don't fit in the camera field. Quality options: Fine (detailed) or Coarse (fast).
Galvo Calibration (using stages + camera), Galvo Distortion Correction (using marked grid + flatbed scanner, no stages needed), Galvo Cam Calibration (camera and galvo in same position), Stage Calibration (using calibration mask), MM per Pixel Detection, Set View Size/Position, and Perspective Correction.
Standard and Advanced 3D printing with slicing, hatching per layer, support/raft generation, skin generation (down/up), top/bottom segment presets, per-axis model scaling, shape smoothing, and recipes before/after each slice. Advanced mode allows hybrid processes - sintering, drilling, and polishing in the same layer.
Yes. With the Multi-Head module, DMC controls any number of galvo scanners simultaneously. It automatically splits and distributes trajectories among heads. Heads can process a single large part, work on the same region for throughput, or operate in master-slave mode.

TCP/IP, UDP, MQTT (with dedicated broker and send commands), OPC UA, EtherCAT, Modbus, Serial/COM, RS-232, Telnet, REST API, ADS (Beckhoff), SYSMAC (Omron), and database connections. This enables integration with MES systems, PLCs, and Industry 4.0 infrastructure.
Before/after recipe start, before/after recipe finish, on recipe error or cancel, before/after each slice (in 3D printing), before/after each tile (in stitching), on hardware connect/disconnect, external start/stop, and auto-calibration on connect.
Yes. The Remote Control Module (RCM) enables TCP/IP control from other software. Load recipes, change variables, run/stop processes, and query status. DMC can run in background mode without GUI to save resources. Custom HMI can be built using the C# API.
Chart display from imported data, high-speed data monitor (up to 4 parameters: position, velocity, analog output, encoder, pulse, etc.), and data inspection tool. Monitoring data can be saved to CSV. Measurement period configurable in microseconds.
Linear, figure-eight, infinity, and custom patterns. The wobble frequency, amplitude (parallel and perpendicular to path), and shape can be configured. Multi-scanner complex wobble patterns are available for combining different scanners.
Skywriting adds lead-in and lead-out movements at trajectory corners where the laser is off. This ensures the scanner is at full marking speed when the laser fires, preventing corner distortion. DMC supports skywriting for both galvo scanners and stages.
User access levels with password-protected profiles and configurable permissions per user. Process parameter locking behind password. Recipe locking with optional machine-specific restriction. These features ensure operators cannot change critical settings in production environments.
